Richard LaMartia has been a chef instructor at the Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts in New Tork City since 1994, teaching in the Chef’s Training program preparing students for a professional career in the food world as well as teaching classes in the institute, the avocational wing of the school teaching the general public to better choose quality foods and enjoy home cooking.
Chef Rich loves Indian cuisine and worked at Tabla Restaurant under Chef Floyd Cardoz for two years. He has also been a student practitioner of Ayurveda for 25 years, and traveled to India three times to study Ayurveda, yoga and meditation. In 2001, he cooked in an Ayurvedic kitchen in a yoga ashram for a year.
Presently, he combines his teaching with being a private instructor and chef.
